Facilities Maintenance Person (Night Shift)Full TimePosting #PRC2024-89Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture is seeking an organized individual for the night Facility Maintenance Person position. Under the direction of the Lead Hand this position is responsible for custodial and maintenance work involving the operation and cleanliness of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre. The successful candidate will complete both custodial and cleaning duties, as well as maintenance functions involving ice making, refrigeration, building heating, pool heating and filtration equipment. Duties vary according to the specialized area and activity assigned, the season and facility activity needs. QUALIFICATIONSAt least three years? experience in tasks involving custodial and building maintenance of a recreation facility or similar setting including ice making, building heating, air support structures, pool heating and filtration equipment, and the operation of various equipment. Level I and II Pool Operators certifications. Valid Refrigeration Operator Certification recognized under the BC Pressure Vessels and Boilers Act or equivalent. Valid Building Service Worker Level 1 certification. Valid Ice Facility Operator certification is considered and asset. Current CPR C certification. Valid Class 5 BC Driver?s License. Provision of a current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (Note: This is the applicant?s financial responsibility to obtain this).NOTE: It is a requirement of the position that applicants either possess a Refrigeration Operator Certificate or equivalent, or, as condition of employment, the successful applicant will be required to obtain certification within a specified period, at their own cost. HOURS OF WORK Sunday-Wednesday - 10:00pm-8:00am (40hrs/week)Work hours may vary based on operational requirements.LOCATION(S) Oak Bay Recreation CentreRATE $32.89/hr (step 1)-$34.32/hr (step 3) - 2024 ratesSTATUS Full-Time (This is a union position) BENEFITSMunicipal Benefits include Pension Plan, Extended Health & Dental coverage, vacation, and sick entitlement.
