Position is available in Markham. We are located on Steeles with McCowan. *Food specialties*: Pastries and cakes including breads and croissants made from scratch as well as cookie and cake decorations at a high volume *Responsibilities:* * Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business * Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen * Come up with recipe ideas from scratch * Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items * Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times * Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary * Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients * Assisting the Executive Chef in ensuring the success and profitability of the organization * Following strict safety and hygiene protocols and ensuring that the culinary team adheres to them as well *Qualifications/Skills:* * Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment * Adaptability * Decision-making * Oral communication * Self-motivated * High energy Level * Multi-tasking * Planning, problem solving, and teamwork *Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:* * High school diploma or GED. * Minimum seven (7) years of pastry experience. * Current food handler?s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law.
