Long Term Occasional Teaching Opportunity teaching Grade 6/7 at Lutherwood Learning Program starting September 3 to January 31, 2025. <p>The WCDSB & Lutherwood Learning Program provides a therapeutic classroom setting for children, aged 5 to 12, residing in Waterloo Region or Wellington County. There are four classrooms with a classroom teacher and Child & Youth Care Worker in each classroom. Each classroom has a maximum of 10 students. Students are enrolled in the program for approximately 10 months with a focus on preparing the child to return to his/her community school. A team of professionals work with the child and family to address the issues obstructing the child from working to their full potential at school. Students often struggle with self-regulation skills which at times may result in inappropriate or aggressive behaviour. There is a team of treatment staff available to support students if behaviour escalates. It is located in Waterloo and the hours are 8:50 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.<p>First consideration will be given to Certified Occasional Teachers on the WCDSB Daily Occasional Teacher List. Second consideration will then be given to external certified teachers. <p>External Certified teachers, who are successful in obtaining a Long-Term Occasional teaching assignment with WCDSB, will also be placed on the WCDSB's Daily Occasional Teacher List. <p>Requirement: Junior & Intermediate & Special Education Part 1 qualifications are preferred.
