Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Conduct program evaluations. Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans . Diagnose any behaviour disorders. Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Examine the behaviour. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Record observations. Review reports from health care professionals to determine patients' current and potential functioning levels. Supervise other counsellors, social service staff and assistants. Use standard psychological tests for assessment. Write progress reports . Prepare a treatment plan for each patient. Provide education to clients regarding health promotion and injury prevention, management and treatment. Provide therapy. Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment. Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them. Maintain accurate records. Plan intervention programs. Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessment. Interpret test results. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals.
