*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in their daily tasks. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
*Duties*
* Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
* Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis.
* Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
* Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after procedures.
* Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments.
* Educate pet owners on post-operative care, nutrition, and general animal health.
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
* Assist with the handling and restraint of animals for examinations and procedures.
*Requirements*
* A degree in Veterinary Technology.
* Registration with the *Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA)* is required.
* Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting is essential; we are specifically seeking an *experienced Veterinary Technician*.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both animals and their owners.
* The ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
* A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
* License in good standing with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association.
