Zone: Labrador Grenfell Zone Location: Makkovik Community Clinic Regional Registered Nurse II Labrador Grenfell Zone - MAK OUTPATIENT/EMERGENCY Permanent Full-time 55505POS Hours 75 hours bi-weekly (Shift Work; Days, Nights, On-Call, Weekends) Salary NS-34 ($48.21- $59.79), plus the applicable Labrador AllowanceCompetition Number VAC0001726 Posted Date 2024-10-08 Closing Date Open until filled Demands, duties, qualifications Qualifications : Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with a Nursing Diploma, or an approved University with a Bachelor of NursingCurrent registration and licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)Completion of an Outpost Nursing Program or other education/certification (e.g., health assessment course) is an asset2 years' acute care experience with preference for emergency care or ICU experience2 years' experience regional or outpost nursing within the past five years.Previous experience in leadership roles.The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR)A Class V Driver's license Duties (Include but not limited to): Arranging and conducting clinics for primary care purposes including assessing, diagnosing, and prescribing in accordance with professional, provincial, and organizational standards, policies, and clinical practice guidelines.Coordinating treatment plans based on ongoing assessments, client and family response and outcomes, consulting with physician or nurse practitioner if required care is outside of provider's scope of practice and competencies.Coordinating monthly client case management meetings with all health care providers to develop care plans for clients with complex needs.Dispenses medications in accordance with professional, provincial, and organizational standards, policies, and clinical practice guidelines.Coordinating medical follow-up (e.g., referrals as appropriate; facilitating transition from hospital to community; and acting as a liaison between the client and various health care providers).Consults with the assigned physician and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager for administrative/management issues.Ensuring quality assurance standards are maintained.Other duties as assigned (e.g., emergency on-call, medevacs, documentation of nursing workload measurement system, provide relief in other sites as required.Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.Enter nursing workload.Directs all staff by delegating duties and responsibilities. Organizing work schedules including approval of leave.Oversees month reports including financial, community referral statistics, daily workload report and recommends actions, as necessary.Completes annual performance appraisals.May be required to provide some relief in either Black Tickle(south)or Postville (North) to provide nurses with regular breaks.May be required to work alone.
