You Belong." We want all of our students and staff to feel a sense of belonging and care. <p> <p>The successful candidate for this position will be committed to working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to design an environment and program that engages both children and their families. They will have a breadth of knowledge and experience in working in the Inclusive Education field at the elementary level, including experience in the areas of social emotional learning, trauma informed practice and differentiated instruction. They will also be familiar with technology used to support students in their learning.<p>The successful candidate may be required to complete LSS Essentials , a series of 3 workshops facilitated by the LSS Department.<p>The annual salary for this full-time Teacher position ranges from $55,654.20 to $97,612.20 with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.<p><p> <p>Education & Experience<p><p> Major/minor or diploma in Inclusive Education (aka Special Education) <p> Practicum and/or work experience in Inclusive Education at the Elementary level <p> Case management experience required <p> Training and experience with Level B Assessments (ie. KBIT2/KTEA III) <p> Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification<p> Eligible for B.C. Certification<p> Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports<p><p>Teaching Competencies<p><p><p>All teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:<p><p><p><p> Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of others in a tactful, compassionate and respectful manner. <p> Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment <p> Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics. <p> Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students? interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning <p> Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies. <p> Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives <p> Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, incl
