Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Industrial. Manufacture. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal. Type of materials: Plasma coatings. Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Plasma arc welding (PAW). Spool. Multipass. Equipment and machinery experience: Butt or seam resistance welding machine. Gas welding machine. Soldering machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Factory assembly. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
