Responsibilities
Tasks

Conduct research on related specialized therapies

Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans

Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient’s outcomes

Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems

Record observations

Review reports from health care professionals to determine patients’ current and potential functioning levels

Write progress reports

Provide therapy

Implement treatment plans

Analyze the patient during the treatments

Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes

Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them

Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals
