Posting #2024-03 *CAREER OPPORTUNITY * *LABOUR RELATIONS OFFICER * Two Temporary (up to 12 months) Full-Time Positions *Location:* Civic Service Union 52 10212 - 112 Street NW Edmonton, AB T5K 1M4 *Overview of Position: * The Union is seeking two experienced Labour Relations Officers for an immediate start with minimum orientation. Requirements of the position involve constant membership contact and support including collective agreement interpretation and alternative dispute resolution. There is a strong requirement to be consultative and integrative with the current office team towards seamless file management, team learning and process sharing. Excellent management of paper and electronic file maintenance is essential to ensure good records management and legislated requirements are constantly met. Labour Relations Officers provide research and process support to bargaining, arbitration preparation and special projects. Consistent with the expanding representation responsibilities for unions, medical accommodation and harassment investigation files formulate a significant portion of work for this position. *Candidate Qualifications: * * An undergraduate degree in Labour Relations (or related degree) and 5 years of relevant experience is required * Candidates must demonstrate highly developed problem-solving, positive interpersonal and professional communication skills * Candidates have the ability to prioritize multiple activities as well as work independently and as a member of a highly effective team * A valid driver?s license and vehicle is required (a car allowance is provided) *The Organization: * CSU 52 is a multi-employer Union providing service to an administrative, technical and professional membership in five bargaining units ? The City of Edmonton, EPCOR, Capital Power, The Edmonton Public Library, and TELUS World of Science - Edmonton. Our organization operates within an interest-based environment and prides ourselves on representing our members in a highly professional and collaborative manner. *Remuneration: * The current salary range for a Labour Relations Officer (Job Level) is Step A through F: $56.39 - $71.25 (hourly) $3,807.00 - $4,809.00 (bi-weekly) $99,361.00 - $125,527.00 (annually) This is a unionized position covered by the Collective Agreement between CSU 52 and the United Steelworkers, Local 1-207, currently under negotiations. *Hours of Work: * 7.5 hours per day (compressed hours of work program in effect).
