We are looking for someone with strong retail and sales experience as well experience in product merchandising. The successful applicant must possess strong leadership qualities and have the ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment. *Salary:* to be set according to qualifications/experience. This position offers a comprehensive employee benefits package. *Job Purpose:* The Assistant Manager will assist the Store Manager in all duties related to managing a Nutter?s Bulk & Natural Foods store. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for all store operations. *Other Job Information:* This position reports directly to the Store Manager. *Main Job Duties:* As directed by the Store Manager: * Plan, organize and execute store merchandising. * Responsible for the sales floor, work with staff to build sales. * *Assist the Store Manager with the following:* * Recruiting, selecting, training, scheduling, and on floor supervision of staff. * Keeping the store neat, clean and attractive to customers. * Operate the computerized cash register and inventory system. Handle returns, customer complaints and special requests. * Manage in-store inventory including pricing, re-pricing, best before dates, restocking. * Deliver good customer service: * Act on customer requests with a sense of urgency. * Keep customers fully informed by providing timely updates of products and availability. * Consistently follow through on commitments. * Manage the store in the manager's absence. * Develop a good working relationship with vendors. * Assist the store manager with promotional events. * Learn product information and share this with customers. * Assist with planning of educational meetings and events. * Open and close the store. * Actively participate in ongoing training and personal development. * Perform other duties as requested by store manager. *Job Specifications: *Thank you for applying, only those selected for interviews will be notified. There is no closing date for application, the ad will be removed when the position is filled. * Knowledge and strong support of Nutters Everyday Naturals mission statement. * Experience and/or training in retail sales preferred but will train the right applicant with the right skill set. * Proven leadership ability. * Good oral and written communication skills in English. * Proven good customer service skills. * Proficiency with current computer software, but willing to train applicant with some computer skills. * Proven experience with visual merchandising.
