Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Work setting: Residential. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces. Lay radial bricks to build masonry shells of industrial chimneys. Lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks. Line or reline furnaces, kilns, boilers and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks, refractory concretes, plastic refractories and other materials. Equipment and machinery experience: Mortar and concrete mixers. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Up to 9 kg (20 lbs). More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
