Preszler Law Firm is hiring a 1-5 year associate who will work directly with a managing partner on British Columbia and Ontario files. The candidate can live in British Columbia or Ontario. The firm will pay for the lawyer to be called in both provinces and provide training. The position will involve considerable mentoring with all steps of the litigation process, including investigation, pleadings, discoveries, expert evidence, mediation and settlement discussions, and trial. The position will involve working on all types of personal injury files, including car accident cases, premises liability cases, disability denials, and institutional abuse case. Preszler Law Firm runs more trials than any other personal injury law firm in the country, which provides a unique opportunity for mentorship with trial preparation and trial skills. Lawyers receive regular training in personal injury matters, including trial work and jury trials. The working environment is collegial with opportunity to ask questions, workshop cases, and receive regular mentorship from lawyers with different styles and skill sets. The position includes full practice and legal administrative support, practice management software, and a hybrid working environment. Compensation is competitive and includes a benefits package. The right candidate will have resilience and be willing to work hard for clients even on difficult cases; good communication and client management skills; a willingness to abandon ego in service of doing the best job possible for deserving clients; an interest in trauma informed lawyering; a strong work ethic; and, an interest in personal injury law as a calling to help vulnerable and deserving clients by providing access to justice rather than simply a job.
