We pride ourselves on providing staff and students with the tools to achieve success by offering dynamic programming, current resources, and practical professional learning opportunities.<p>EIPS is recruiting a full-time term certain Health Recovery Advisor for our Human Resources department (HR) located at Central Services. <p><p> Commencing December 16, 2024 and ending January 6, 2026 <p> Working 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day) <p> This is a 12-month position (not school calendar) <p> Open to Internal and External Applicants <p> EIPS provides a comprehensive benefit package to all term certain employees <p><p>Elk Island Public Schools Central Services building is located in Sherwood Park, at 683 Wye Road. Providing services for the Division, Central Services is comprised of eight departments, in addition to the Board of Trustees. The departments include Education Executive, Communication Services, Facility Services, Student Transportation, Human Resources, Financial Services, Supports for Students and Information Technologies. Central Services is staffed by 190 employees. Human Resources is home to approximately 15 of our EIPS employees.<p>Function and Purpose of Position <p>This Position delivers jurisdiction wide health and wellness services and is housed within Human Resources. Responsibilities include facilitating recovery and rehabilitation following an injury or illness.<p> The Health Recovery Advisor acts as the primary point of contact for the sick or injured employee, taking the lead in all disability management issues from initial absence to closure. The Health Recovery Advisor liaises with employees, insurance providers, health care professionals, supervisors, HR team members, and other stakeholders to effectively coordinate the claims management process, with the goal of a successful and safe return to work minimizing lost time.<p>Health Recovery/WCB<p> <p><p> Provide advice and assistance regarding health recovery goals and objectives<p> Monitor employee status for short and long-term disability and Workers Compensation (WCB) in a timely manner.<p> Facilitates and assists in the planning of return-to-work and return to work accommodations for employees by working closely with the benefits provider. <p> Facilitate regular, open communication between stakeholders<p> Monitor and administer the Employee Family Assistance Programs (EFAP) for its effectiveness <p> Identify rehabilitation requirements working cooperatively with medical professionals and insurance carriers to achieve desired outcomes for each employee<p> Ensure that all work is done in compliance with privacy and other relevant legislation<p> Monitor all incoming medical documentation and claims related correspondence for appropriate direction and follow-up including communicating timelines as necessary. <p><p><p> <p><p>Human Resources Support <p> <p><p> Assist other Human Resources staff with peak workloads and with special projects and events<p> Other duties as assigned<p><p><p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<p><p> a) Education:<p> i) High School diploma<p> ii) Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) is considered an asset<p> iii) Disability Management Certificate is considered an asset<p><p>b) Experience:<p> i) Minimum of 3-5 years of related Disability Management experience<p> ii) Minimum of 12 months related experience in Human Resources with a preference to working in health recovery<p> <p>An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.<p><p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES<p> <p><p> Excellent knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in Share Point, Microsoft software programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)<p> Working knowl
