HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) mechanic

Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Plumbing technology/plumber. Appliance installation and repair technology/technician. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Odours. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Provide customer service. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Control systems: On-board diagnostics. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Air motioning and circulation. Filtration. Built up (split system). Humidification and de-humidification system. Cooling tower. Geothermal. Equipment and machinery experience: HVAC. Gas lines. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity.
