Posting Number: T 24 - 397 <p>Date Issued: November 21 , 2024 <p>POSITION <p>Worksite: Unsworth Elementary School<p>Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time (Secondment) <p>Assignment Area(s): Teacher Librarian / Preparation Teacher<p>Effective Date: Immediately until not later than June 30, 2025<p>Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)<p>Please Note: The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.<p>Deadline for Applications: Friday, November 29, 2024, 12:00 p.m. <p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching. <p>Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p><p> Master's of Education in Teacher-Librarianship, Master Library and Information Studies (MUS) or Diploma in Teacher-Librarianship and successful experience as a Teacher-Librarian.<p> Experience and/or willingness to learn the skills necessary to plan, implement, and oversee the development of a school wide program for Media & Technology in our school library.<p> Demonstrated ability and experience in collaborating with teachers to improve instructional practice in literacy.<p> Ability to manage a resource collection using curricular and student interests to identify and obtain library materials, organize, and maintain the library collection to promote independent reading and lifelong learning.<p> Collaboration skills in order to support classroom teachers in fostering independent learners by teaching research, information literacy, technology, communication, and critical thinking skills.<p> Demonstrated strong interest in, knowledge and understanding of literature and be able to share passion for books and learning with students.<p> Familiarity with a wide variety of literacy approaches, strategies, and methods of assessment.<p> Demonstrated excellent listening, speaking, presentation and writing skills.<p> Ability to maintain and troubleshoot the library computers, printers, and server.<p> Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.<p> ability to manage a resource collection using curricular and student interests to identify and obtain library materials, organize and maintain the library collection to promote independent reading and lifelong learning<p> proven commitment and strong ability to work with grade group colleagues, staff and administration in a collaborative fashion to engage in shared planning, shared decision making and to develop a strong and caring professional learning community in support of the implementation of Response to Intervention.<p> collaboration skills in order to support classroom teachers in fostering independent learners by teaching research, information literacy, technology, communication and critical thinking skills<p> demonstrated ability to provide leadership, professional development and support services for school staff in Information and Communication technology<p> demonstrated strong interest in, knowledge and understanding of literature and be able to share a passion for books and learning with students<p> familiarity with a wide variety of literacy approaches, strategies, and methods of assessment<p> demonstrated excellent listening, speaking, presentation and writing skills<p> ability to maintain and troubleshoot the library computers, printers and server<p> knowledge and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures K-6<p> successful teaching experience at the elementary level<p> demonstrated ability in using a variety of formative and summative assessments to plan for instruction<p> knowledge of and demonstrated ability in- LocationChilliwack, BC
