*Job Summary*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with lending guidelines. This role requires strong mathematical skills and the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Mortgage Underwriter will play a crucial role in the decision-making process of mortgage approvals, ensuring that all loans meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
*Duties*
* Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
* Conduct risk analysis to determine the viability of loan requests.
* Assess borrower creditworthiness by evaluating credit reports, income statements, and other financial documents.
* Negotiate terms with applicants when necessary to align with lending policies.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations in the underwriting process.
* Collaborate with loan officers and other team members to resolve issues related to applications.
* Maintain detailed records of underwriting decisions and communicate findings to relevant parties.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in mortgage underwriting.
*Experience*
* Proven experience in mortgage underwriting or a related field within financial services is preferred.
* Strong skills in risk analysis, data collection, and financial assessment are essential.
* Proficiency in mathematical calculations related to loan evaluations is required.
* Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and collaboration with clients and colleagues.
* Familiarity with mortgage software systems and underwriting guidelines is a plus.

Pay: $45,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

* underwriting: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Mortgage Broker License (preferred)
