We are seeking a qualified and dedicated full time Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will carry out drafting and design on various projects under the guidance of a Mechanical Engineer while collaboratively working with other design team members.
*Qualifications and Skills:*
· A diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or in a related field.
· Five to ten years of experience in a related field.
· Thoroughly knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software.
· Able to research and understand applicable national and provincial codes
· Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
· A valid Ontario Driver?s Licence with your own reliable transportation
· Ability to multi-task. Willingness to learn and take initiative.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
*Responsibilities:*
· Complete HVAC, plumbing and piping system design and drawings
· Mechanical and machine elements design and drawings
· Complete electrical drawings under the supervision of our electrical engineer
· Work with engineering and design staff on preparing designs, drawings and specifications for inclusion in tender documents for client projects
· Ensuring final designs are compliant with building regulations.
· Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
· Review shop drawings for items of contractor supply.
