Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Operate and tend various wood processing machines to remove bark, knots and dirt from logs. Reduce logs or sawmill waste into wood chips or flakes. Screen wood chips. Operate and tend equipment to peel and slice veneer from logs and log sections. Operate and tend equipment to glue, press, trim, sand and splice veneer sheets. Operate and tend equipment to dry lumber and other wood products. Observe equipment, panel indicators, video monitors, and other instruments to ensure that processes are operating according to specifications. Repair plywood and veneer mechanically or manually. Start up, shut down, set up and adjust process equipment or machines. Type of product: Veneers. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Gloves. Mask. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Ear plugs.
