DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99%.Job SummaryReporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible to coordinate and monitor the design, development and testing of switch-mode power conversion equipment. This role will manage a wide variety of projects and electrical design activities of varying scope and scale, including schedule development and maintenance, generation or EAC, ETC and other program metrics, milestone creation and tracking, and subcontract documentation deliverable management. As Senior Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Project management of a wide variety of electrical design activities of varying scope and scaleEnsure design compliance with all project requirementsReview customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variableAssist in the creation and management of ILS requirements, including technical manuals and other supporting documentationProvide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments including EAC, ETC and milestone reports and schedule performanceCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as requiredParticipate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposalsInteract with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progressLead a project team or teams as assignedSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsMentor and coach less experienced engineersOther duties as assignedWhat you require to be successful in the role:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 5 or more years of experience in electrical design in a light manufacturing environment5 to 10 years of project management experiencePMP or equivalent designation is considered an assetFamiliarity with the application of military and commercial standards to electrical designs is preferredAdvanced knowledge of project management tools and software, including Microsoft Office SuiteRecent experience using MS Project, MS Access would be desirableStrong electrical aptitudeExcellent technical writing, planning, and project management skillsStrong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skillsExcellent time management skills and is able to set and achieve goals and objectives Benefits of working with DRS CanadaA motivating team-based environment where your achievements matterAn opportunity to participate in the design and development of DRS PPI's next generation of power conversion equipment, using leading edge technologyFlexible work hours and a compressed work week to promote a healthy work/life balanceIndustry leading wellness program including:Health, dental, and vision coverage available on first day of hire at no cost to the employee with access to virtual healthcareAn exceptional mental health benefitAccess to Employee and Family Assistance ProgramCompetitive compensation including:Reimbursement for professional development initiatives and memberships plus access to free online learning resourcesRegistered Retirement Savings Plan with matching company contributions with access to complimentary financial planningMaternity and Parenta
