The Purchasing Manager will lead the Purchasing team and any other positions that fit into this realm or might make sense in the future. This position will analyze data to make recommendations or decisions related to best cost, quality and lead time options. Negotiate pricing, conduct supplier audits, initiate new supplier setups, and provide ongoing sourcing and inventory management</li><li>Identify and manage the key supply base, review purchase agreements and contracts, initiate RFPs where appropriate, and identify new supplier opportunities.</li><li>Analyze supplier spending and material data with the goal of achieving year-over-year cost reduction or effective cost management.</li><li>Manage and track supplier performance, including delivery, quality, lead time, and competitiveness.</li><li>Analyze and manage suppliers and material markets for risk mitigation, alternative options and opportunities.</li><li>Organize, research, and submit bid packages.</li><li>Conduct individual or group negotiations with suppliers, focusing on new source development and continuous improvement.</li><li>Work closely with Sales, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to implement new suppliers, pricing, and materials.</li><li>Work with the other Sanimax divisions to leverage overall spend.</li><li>Other duties as assigned or appropriate for this position to undertake.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education & Experience</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor?s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering</li><li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, strategic buying or related emphasis. A similar combination of education and experience will be considered.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Job Requirements</b></p><ul><li>Ability to travel up to 50% for business related items and efforts.</li><li>Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of influencing others and achieving objectives through collaboration.</li><li>Proficient in fostering, developing, and maintaining professional business relationships.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify opportunities through problem-solving techniques and quantify outcomes.</li><li>General knowledge of industrial production processes in an edible or non-edible food processing plant.</li><li>Strong communication skills to interact effectively with management, plant personnel, sales, R&D, and customer service teams.</li><li>Ability to understand business financial information and reports and effectively communicate that information.</li><li>Knowledge of software a
