*Job Summary*
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. You must have experience with civil litigation (business and corporate), construction liens and immigration. (skilled workers and business investor streams). You must be a member of the Law Society of Ontario. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to our organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and safeguarding the company?s interests. This role requires strong legal drafting, negotiation skills, and the ability to conduct thorough research. The Corporate Counsel will work closely with various departments to address legal issues and provide strategic guidance.
*Responsibilities*
* Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements to protect the company's interests.
* Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to stay informed on relevant laws and regulations.
* Provide legal advice on corporate governance, compliance matters, and risk management.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
* Prepare and present legal opinions and recommendations to senior management.
* Assist in the development of company policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements.
* Represent the company in negotiations and discussions with external parties.
*Experience*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
* Proven experience in corporate law or a related field, with a focus on contract negotiation and drafting.
* Strong research skills with proficiency in using legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 ? 10 per week
