Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Electrician. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Dusty. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Assemble fibre-optic and coaxial cables. Install electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance. Instruct apprentices. Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors. Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. Interpret electrical code specifications. Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Electrician Trade Certification. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
