Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Service attachments and working tools. Verify and repair emission control systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T). Diesel engine repair specialization: Fuel injection system. Exhaust system. Cooling system. Air conditioning system. Lubrication system. Engine control system. Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Installation and alignment of engines and machinery. Powered equipment repair specialization: Cable-operated working attachments. Hydraulic-operated working attachments. Compressors. Pumps. Telescopic ladder. Electric generators. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Flexibility. Judgement. Reliability.
