Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: At heights. Outdoors. Confined spaces. Work setting: On-site customer service. Various locations. Tasks: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials. Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade. Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Instruct apprentices. Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures. Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Repair cracks and holes. Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted. Mix paint to desired colour and texture. Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces. Equipment and machinery experience: Roller painting. Patterned rollers. Conventional spray painting. Brush painting. Area of work experience: Paint spraying. Testing equipment experience: Thermometers. Surface preparation experience: Drywall taping/patching. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail.
