*Position: *Bartender *Job Status: *Part-Time / Full time *We Are Hiring!!* The Italian Cultural Centre is proud to introduce ?Osteria al Centro,? a brand-new authentic Italian pizzeria and bar offering a variety of savoury Italian dishes in an atmosphere reminiscent of the best casual eateries in Italy. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team! Positions available include pizzaiolos, sous chefs, cooks, bartenders, baristas, servers, and supervisors. Join us and become part of our Italian family! *Organization Profile* Founded in 1977, the Italian Cultural Centre?s mission is ?to promote Italian language, culture and heritage and to share these with other communities?. Created by volunteers, with financial support from the Province of BC and the City of Vancouver, the Centre serves as a vital reference and focal point for the Lower Mainland?s Italian Canadian Community and for all those in the greater community who appreciate Italian culture ?Il Centro? has operated for over 40 years and presents a broad spectrum of cultural programming, events and activities on an annual basis. *Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:* · Clean the bar area and wash glassware · Collect cash, credit/debit cards or other payment for beverages · Record and balance beverage sales · Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock · Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations · Prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer and non-alcoholic beverages · Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons · Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables · Manage guest queries in a friendly, timely and efficient manner *Job Requirements:* The successful candidate needs to have the following knowledge and experience: · Serving It Right Certification · 1 year of Serving experience in the restaurant · Previous experience in high-volume restaurant · Must be flexible to workdays, evenings and weekends. · Great conversational skills and teamwork-oriented · Strong organizational skills · Must have English communication skills - reading and writing *Job Requirements:* · Physically capable of safely lifting to 25 lbs. · Ability to listen and respond to demanding guest needs · Positive outlook and outgoing personality · The capacity to work under extreme pressure. · Legally eligible to work in Canada *Perks and Benefits to Joining Il Centro:* · Competitive wage. · An exciting and positive work environment · A dedicated and supportive management team · Fun staff events and parties · Employee discounts · Opportunities for career advancement · Casual dress · Free On-site parking Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40 per week Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Evening shift * Weekends as needed Experience: * serving: 1 year (preferred) * Bartending: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: * Work Permit (required) Work Location: In person
