AME (aircraft maintenance engineer) chief

Tasks: Prepare production and other reports. Supervise workers and projects. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Recommend personnel actions. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Perform and document routine maintenance. Interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions. Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems. Install or modify aircraft engines and mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems. Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble. Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies. Inspect structural and mechanical systems of aircraft and ensure that these systems meet Transport Canada and company standards of performance and safety. Supervision: 3-4 people. Aircraft mechanics and aircraft inspectors. Apprentices. Labourers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AME «M» Licence - Aircraft. Aircraft experience: Small piston airplane. Small turboprops. Structural repair experience - aircraft: Aircraft sheet metal structures. Aircraft structures - general. Type of industry experience: General aviation. Commercial air carrier. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Turbine engines. Piston engines. Aircraft maintenance - general. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Hand-eye co-ordination.
