*Job Overview: * The Pharmacy Assistant is a key role that supports our pharmacy functions, and combines customer service excellence. This position supports our pharmacy team with technical tasks and maintaining accurate records, as well as ensures customer satisfaction through prompt, professional interactions with patients when required. *Key Responsibilities:* Pharmacy Support: * Efficiently and correctly complete computer prescription order entry and claim adjudication under pharmacy technician supervision. * Troubleshoot adjudication concerns with insurance providers and patient support programs. * Prepare compliance packaged medication with the PACMED machine. * Send batches to the PACMED machine. * Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to be reviewed by a pharmacy technician or pharmacist. * Answer phones and check voicemail messages. * Contact patients via phone or email regarding insurance coverage, medication status, and refill status. * Perform general housekeeping, stock supplies, keep the dispensing area clean, and maintain dispensing equipment. * Monitor and maintain inventory control of dispensary and OTC products daily. * Document relevant phone conversations in the patient's profile. * Escalate complex patient issues to pharmacy technicians or pharmacists as needed. * Scan and file McKesson, OTC product, and narcotic invoices, as appropriate. * Perform other duties as required by management. *Work Location: *2620 Bristol Cir Unit 400, Oakville, ON L6H 6Z7 *Hours: *40 hours per week, rotations over Monday - Saturday, shifts varies from 8am - 8pm Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Casual dress * Dental care * Extended health care * On-site parking * Store discount Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Evening shift * Monday to Friday * Morning shift * Weekends as needed Experience: * pharmacy: 1 year (required) * Kroll: 1 year (required) * working with diabetic patients and medication: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
