Responsibilities: - Assist ophthalmologists in providing patient care - Perform preliminary eye exams, including taking patient history and measuring visual acuity - Prepare patients for procedures and assist during examinations - Administer eye drops and medications as directed by healthcare providers - Perform diagnostic tests, such as I CARE and visual field testing, OCTs and Fundus photos - Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records - Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information Wage is dependent on experience Skills: - Experience working in a medical office or retail sales environment - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent patient care - Knowledge of electronic medical records systems - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation - Proficient in using ophthalmic equipment and performing basic diagnostic tests As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality eye care to our patients. You will work closely with ophthalmologists and other techs to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team.
