*Job Overview* Tomlin Restaurant is looking to Hire our new full time Pastry Chef! A successful applicant has a true love and interest in Food and Beverage and is looking to establish themselves as a great up and coming pastry chef and to build a career in this business. We're looking for someone who's looking to join a team of really passionate professionals who have chosen to build lives as chefs in Thunder Bay as part of a great team! We take food seriously but loving to have fun at work as well. Cooking and Restaurant/Catering Experience is necessary but Pastry experience is something we're willing to help train up and allow you to grow slowly if you have the right passion for it. *Duties* * Take full control of the pastry programs corporation wide once comfortable. * Create their own dessert menus at both Tomlin Restaurant and The Chanterelle through our catering operations * Train staff and helpers as required to your new set of standards. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and handling regulations. * Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of desserts during service hours. * Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. * Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. *Experience* * Previous experience in the food industry, specifically in baking or pastry preparation, is an asset. * Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. * Strong customer service skills to interact positively with team members and guests. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards. * A passion for Food and Beverage with a willingness to learn new techniques and improve skills continuously.
