Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Therapeutic recreation/recreational therapy. Work setting: Health care institution, facility or clinic. Recreational facility/institution. Tasks: Perform administrative tasks. Co-ordinate special events. Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs. Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming. Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans . Work experience with special needs students: Assistance with personal hygiene. Area of work experience: University or college. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication.
