DISTRICT OF SAANICHENGINEERINGPUBLIC WORKSSTREET OPERATIONSOPERATIONS WORKER II 1 Full-Time, Temporary position(2 yrs or until return of incumbent)Saanich Street Operations is seeking an experienced candidate for our road marking crew in the Street Operations Section. Duties include planning, organizing, estimating projects and a combination of tasks pertinent to the installation, repair, upgrade and control of road markings. Directing the work of small crew on site will be required. Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; two years of experience in Construction and Maintenance of road markings; a valid B.C. Class 3 Driver?s Licence with an air brake endorsement; Occupational First Aid Level I Certificate; a valid Traffic Control Certificate; and sufficient health, physical conditioning, strength, stamina and coordination to permit performance of heavy manual work in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with basic computer operations and eager to improve their technical skills on the job. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and organization are important for this position. The successful candidate(s) will work Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $37.95 per hour and an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
