*The Opportunity*
Aryze is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. You are part of a small team working to maintain order and transparency for Aryze?s daily operations. This role is critical to the success of our business and integral to our continued growth. You, the ideal candidate, have strong organizational skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at one time. You also have a keen interest in community-building, and sustainable business; you share the values that drive Aryze as a company.
*Overview*
Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant manages all accounting operations based on accounting principles. You are part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for Aryze?s finances. All functions and responsibilities are performed in accordance with Aryze's values and beliefs.
*Responsibilities*
* Ensure that monthly bank reconciliations are completed
* Prepare weekly AP pay runs
* Resonsible for tracking and reporting held AP payments
* Responsible for Vehicle R&M monthly reporting to Safety Manager
* Manage Aged Payable report to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Manage holdback payable report
* Ensure all HB documentation is collected in a timely manner & responsible for follow up to obtain missing documents.
* Responsible for Stat Dec payment report & preparation
* Assist PM's and DM's with resolving billing discrepancies (Subcontracts/holdback, etc)
* Responsible for adding jobs to the accounting system
* Review and approve all bills and expenses before posting in the system
* Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions (ex. review AP before posting, approval workflows, Jonas job access)
* Review & Submit T5018 annual filing
* Review subcontractor WCB report & resolve issues
* Assist with maintaining intercompany books
* Assist with GST filing preparation
* Perform other duties, as requested and required

* Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
* Strong organizational skills with proven efficiency to handle multiple tasks at one time

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent accounting software user and administration skills. Proficient computer skills with G-Suite and MS products, Quickbooks Online, Project Management and Job Costing software, Online Expense Tracking software
*Qualifications*
To be considered for the role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* *Education: *4 year University Degree in accounting, finance, or another relevant field of study
* *Experience:*
* Minimum 2 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
* Minimum 2 years of full cycle accounting and real estate related accounting practices
* Minimum 2 years contract administration experience
* Minimum 2 years construction project accounting experience specific to long-term contracts
* *Software: *Minimum 2 year experience working with Jonas Premier Construction Software and Google Suite.
* Class 5 Driver?s license with clean driving record
