Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Machinery installation. Maintenance. Service. Repair. Machine set-up. Assembly. Tasks: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up. Operate machining tools to fabricate parts. Installing machinery and equipment. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification. Construction Millwright Trade Certification. Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement. Control systems: Electrical devices. Equipment and machinery experience: Conveyor. Fans and blowers. Hydraulic system. Industrial and stationary engine. Lathes and other machining tools. Power tools. Press brakes and metalworking equipment. Pumps and compressors. Welding equipment. Area of specialization: Start-up and testing. Shutdown operations. Rigging and handling. Troubleshooting. Bearing, seals and packing. Hydraulics and fluids. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
