Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Sheet metal shop. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Equipment and machinery experience: Power presses. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Judgement. Organized. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
