*Job Overview*
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, including daily QuickBooks updates, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting our ongoing operations, and helping to meet critical deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, attention to detail, and experience in the financial services or corporate lending sectors.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Update and maintain QuickBooks daily; reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements and weekly performance reports, providing actionable insights.
* Reconcile accounts receivable weekly and conduct monthly A/R reviews.
* Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment processing.
* Maintain accounting databases by entering updated customer and supplier information; organize and store all receipts in internal systems.
* Conduct financial auditing to assess compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
* Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
* Assist in preparing government remittances, including corporate income tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
* Stay current with GAAP regulations and ensure compliance across accounting functions.
* Monitor and manage critical deadlines to ensure timely delivery of financial reports and remittances.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
* CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) is strongly preferred.
* 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within financial services or corporate lending.
* Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
* Knowledge of corporate lending, loan portfolio management, and credit risk assessment.
* Familiarity with GAAP regulations.
