Columbia Basin TrustProject Engineer - MechanicalColumbia Basin Trust is seeking a Project Engineer - Mechanical to join our Power Operations team. This position focuses on supporting projects at the Trust's hydroelectric facilities to maintain their compliant, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This position also provides technical support during annual facility outages and leads mechanical troubleshooting, forced outage investigations, and corrective maintenance. This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our Castlegar office. Our Power Operations team work together in a collaborative and supportive environment, enjoying the beauty and unique experiences the West Kootenay region offers. The salary range for this position is $98,100 - $115,300. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering, the successful candidate will: Support continuous improvement through reliability-focused projects. Maintain and inspect equipment, with recommendations aligned to long-term strategy. Manage projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery. Develop and manage contracts for consultants and contractors. Provide technical guidance for equipment reliability and maintenance budgeting. Create and authenticate engineering documents as a Professional Engineer of Record. Support incident management, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Participate in the on-call program as required. We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field. The successful applicant will also possess a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC or an equivalent provincial association.
