Within Canada, Burckhardt Compression has a strong Services division in which we aim to provide one-stop reciprocating service for our customers. We are able to provide field service, repair and engineering/revamp services and spare parts for any brand of reciprocating compressor. Burckhardt Compression (Canada) Inc. (BCCA) has an opening for a Millwright, that will be directly reporting to the Millwright Team Lead, this position is based in Edmonton, AB. Shifts: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. On-call rotation required. *Key Tasks & Accountabilities * * Responsible for ongoing maintenance, repair and performance of production equipment in accordance with ISO 9001/14001/45001; * Responsible for safely assembling, installing, aligning, commissioning, maintaining, repairing, diagnosing, inspecting, dismantling, and safe decommissioning of compressors and associated parts; * Participate and provide feedback on Lessons Learned, SOP reviews, training sessions and toolbox meetings. * Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment issues. * Disassemble, clean, and inspect reciprocating compressor components and associated parts; * Perform routine maintenance work on machinery; * Assemble machinery prior to installation; * Understand and read Engineered Blueprints and drawings; * Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition; * Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner; * Mentor and train apprentices as needed; * Conduct preventative maintenance program according to standards; * Recommend solutions to routine and unique equipment problems; * Response to equipment problems in a timely & customer-oriented manner. *Safety & Quality Responsibilities* * Adherence to company safety policies and procedures and fostering safe work practices; * Inspect work areas for safety hazards and observe employees for safe work habits; * Carry out QC on completed jobs and parts upon arrival and before leaving the Shop as required; * Ensure Quality standards are being met and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for our Shop; * Integrating all shop, quality, safety and security policies and guidelines into all day to day activities on the job; * Promote and participate in the continuous improvement activities. *Education & Experience* * Holds the appropriate millwright journeyperson ticket or equivalent experience; * 3-5 year of relevant experience; * Knowledge of compressors, machining processes, parts, inventory and equipment needed for machine shop requirements; * Team-player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster strong working relationships. * Highly self-motivated and detail oriented; * Ability to successfully adapt in fast-growing and changing environments; * Excellent problem-solving, organization and multi-tasking skills; * Strong written and verbal communication skills; * Proficient in English. *Why work at Burckhardt Compression?* Our corporate culture is sustained by the skills and dedication of our employees.
