*Scope of Position:* The Housekeeper and Laundry Aide shall provide housekeeping and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner, according to the policies and procedures of the Home. *Key Responsibilities:* * Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner * Participates as a member of the maintenance team and provides support to the other members of the team * Projects the appropriate image and focus on customer service in their dealings with residents, families and guests * Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations * Provides personal laundry services for residents in accordance with established work routines * Operates and cleans equipment, furniture and cleans and maintains all areas related to residents as per work routines * Assists and attends to the needs of the residents as required * Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner * Is aware of employees and supervisor?s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures * Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents * Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations * Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy * Other related duties as assigned *Qualifications:* * Previous experience in housekeeping and/or laundry services * Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent * Must be able to read and communicate effectively * Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions * Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors * Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills * Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints * Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness * Must be able to operate related equipment * Must be able to respond to emergency situations * Must be able to stand for extended periods of time as well as lift and carrying heavy trays and items Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 20 per week Benefits: * On-site parking Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Experience: * housekeeping: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
