Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Office. Urban area. Consulting engineering company. Private sector. Tasks: Conduct environmental impact studies. Conduct feasibility studies. Plan and design highway/roadway projects. Plan and design water and waste management systems. Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information . Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Provide customer service. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Offer mentoring. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Work in a multidisciplinary environment. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: SolidWorks software. AutoCAD. MS Office. SharePoint. MS Excel. Area of work experience: Design. Project management. Construction specialization: Urban planning. Residential construction. Area of specialization: Municipal or urban. Water resources. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Travel expenses paid by employer. Valid driver's licence.
