*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Under the direction of the Housekeeping/Laundry Manager, to provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment for Cassellholme residents, staff and visitors by performing various housekeeping duties.
*CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Housekeepers are responsible for tasks assigned (see below) that will be measured by checklists and audits:
Daily and weekly cleaning of resident rooms including the washrooms as measured by audits and completed check sheets. This includes dust mopping/wet mopping the floors and/or vacuuming the carpet, spot washing the walls, dusting the furniture, high dusting and emptying wastebaskets.
Daily cleaning of all shower/tub rooms.
Daily/weekly cleaning of lobby areas, lounges, public washrooms, corridors, elevators, stairwells, locker rooms, lunchrooms and all auxiliary rooms.
Daily/weekly cleaning of all floor areas including dust mopping/wet mopping, sweeping, scrubbing and spray buffing.
Daily disposal of contents of wastebaskets and ashtrays throughout the facility.
Transporting of trash from all designated areas to the disposal area.
Stock all areas that require paper supplies daily.
Weekly cleaning of office space including vacuuming of carpets, wiping of all furniture including filing cabinets, high dusting mop/wet mop hard floor surfaces and disinfecting telephones.
Weekly cleaning of lighting fixtures; polishing of wood surfaces, metal work and trim.
Changing and placement of all cubical curtains and drapery when cleaning is required.
Refinish all hard floor surfaces at established intervals.
Extracting of carpeted areas and upholstered furniture as needed or on a periodic basis.
Wall washing, ceiling and vent cleaning done at established intervals.
Carbolizing of resident beds after a transfer, discharge and/or death.
Assisting with resident transfers, including moving of furniture.
Complete set ups at time specified and location preferred when required daily.
Any other Housekeeping related duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
* Experience in institutional or commercial cleaning.
* Ability to effectively operate various types of industrial cleaning equipment.
* Grade 12 education preferred.
* Demonstrates regular attendance in keeping with standards of Attendance Management Program.
* You have a satisfactory CPIC with vulnerable sector screening within six (6) months;
* Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.52-$24.74 per hour
Expected hours: 8 ? 40 per week
