*Job Description: Shipping Supervisor (Afternoon Shift)* *Company Name:* Mikhaiel Logistics Inc *Location:* 288 University Ave, Belleville *Shift:* Afternoon Shift (3:00 PM ? 11:30 PM) *Reports To:* Operations Manager *Job Summary:* Mikhaiel Logistics is seeking an organized and proactive *Shipping Supervisor* to manage shipping operations during the afternoon shift. This role involves supervising the shipping/receiving team, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and dispatch of outbound shipments, and maintaining safety and quality standards. *Key Responsibilities:* *Supervision & Team Leadership* * Oversee and manage daily shipping activities, ensuring all orders are processed and dispatched on time. * Supervise and support the shipping team, providing training and performance feedback. * Conduct pre-shift meetings to outline objectives, priorities, and updates. *Operational Efficiency* * Coordinate resources and workflows to optimize the shipping process and reduce delays. * Monitor and ensure accuracy in labelling, packing, and documentation of shipments. * Address any operational bottlenecks or issues promptly and effectively. * Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance. * Support the team with hands-on forklift operations as required during peak times. *Quality Assurance & Compliance* * Ensure shipments meet quality standards, including correct packaging and adherence to customer requirements. * Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards for shipping and transportation. * Conduct periodic audits to ensure documentation accuracy and process consistency. *Health & Safety* * Enforce all health and safety policies and ensure safe practices in the shipping area. * Inspect equipment and workstations regularly to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment. Ensure all team members follow established protocols. * Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members. *Communication & Reporting* * Act as the primary point of contact for the shipping team during the afternoon shift. * Communicate with carriers and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of outbound shipments. * Prepare and submit shift performance and productivity reports to the Operations Manager. *Qualifications:* * Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse or shipping operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in the logistics industry. * Familiarity with shipping software, inventory management systems, and related tools. * Strong leadership and organizational skills. * Certified forklift operator with proven hands-on experience in forklift operation. * Understanding of health and safety standards in warehouse environments. *Key Competencies:* * Leadership and team management skills. * Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. * Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. *Physical Requirements:* * Ability to operate forklifts and lift up to 50 pounds as needed. * Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with standing and walking for extended periods. * Ability to work on weekends, if required.
