We design and install permanent holiday lighting systems, which combine custom lighting controller hardware with industry leading cloud based control. We?re a tight knit group of nice people, with a focus on creating quality products and delivering an excellent customer experience. *Position Overview:* In this position, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based server and IoT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an expert in AWS, server maintenance, and have a strong background in architecting scalable, secure, and efficient IoT ecosystems. *Responsibilities:* * *Design and Architect Cloud IoT Infrastructure*: Develop end-to-end solutions for IoT systems, leveraging AWS services such as IoT Core, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and other relevant cloud tools. * *Server Maintenance and Patching*: Oversee routine server patching, upgrades, and security updates to maintain optimal performance and ensure compliance with industry standards. * *Infrastructure Automation*: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies for efficient deployment and scalability. * *Security and Compliance*: Design and enforce security best practices for cloud-based IoT systems, including secure data transmission, encryption, and adherence to compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). * *System Monitoring and Optimization*: Configure monitoring systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure uptime and efficiency. Optimize resource usage to balance performance and cost. * *Develop Applications: *Develop business logic and interface with databases that live in these environments * *Troubleshooting and Support*: Serve as a technical lead to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in IoT infrastructure and AWS services. * *Collaboration and Documentation*: Work with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and software developers, to align on system requirements. Document system designs and operational procedures. *Requirements:* * *Personal:* * Be someone who is kind and generally nice to be around. * Have personal values that align well with our company core values. * *Technical Expertise*: * Advanced knowledge of AWS (IoT Core, EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS, Cognito, DynamoDB etc.). * Expertise in server patching (Linux), security protocols, and compliance frameworks. * Strong understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT) and architectures. * SQL and no-SQL database architecture and query experience. * *Programming and Automation*: * Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, PHP or another scripting language. * Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). * *Monitoring and Analytics*: * Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, and ELK Stack. * *Experience*: * 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, IoT systems, or a related field. * Experience migrating cloud infrastructure to serverless. * Proven experience with server maintenance and high-availability systems. * *Certifications*: * AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, IoT Specialty) are highly desirable. *Preferred Skills:* * Knowledge of edge computing and integration of IoT devices with cloud platforms. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies. * Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). *Benefits:* * Competitive salary with annual bonus. * Opportunities for professional development and AWS certifications. * Hybrid work environment with up to 40% remote work. * Collaborative, innovative work environment. *To Apply:* Please apply via Indeed, and include a cover letter which answers the below question along with any other information you?d like to share about yourself and your experience.
