Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Milling machines. Sawing machine. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Dependability.
