*Position Title: *Production Manager *Position Status: *Permanent, Full Time *Reporting to: *President/CEO *Location:* Delhi, Ontario *Salary:* Commensurate with experience *Hours*: Normal hours are 40 hours per week, 8:00 am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with half hour lunch from 12 noon to 12:30. Additional hours as required. *About the Position:* This is a senior management position. The Production Manager has overall responsibility for all aspects of all production processes. The successful applicant will have a broad range of hands-on experience in various production environments and of various technologies in order to lead a small team in improvements to the overall production system. The successful applicant will work closely with the team mentoring and leading daily work as well as improvement projects. We are seeking an experienced motivated candidate to work as much on the shop floor as in the office initially as they learn, understand and take control of the production processes and lead the team and processes into the future. Willingness and desire to take ownership and control of processes and work on continuous improvement is essential. The successful applicant will have the skills and experience to transition from a hands on small team environment to an increasingly office based management role as the department grows and therefore will have skills and proficiency with as MS Office, production related aspects of ERP systems, 5S, continuous improvement methodologies. *About the Company:* Bluestreak Equipment Inc., founded in 2005 is currently a small but high growth leading manufacturer in the field of magnetic / non-magnetic / sorting and cleaning solutions. Bluestreak designs, manufactures and sells a broad range of high quality well-designed premium products globally to an also broad range of industries from roofing, construction, mining, manufacturing, shot blasting, military, to recycling, landfill and airport operations. Approximately ninety percent of sales are to export markets outside of Canada. Many products are made to stock and others are made to order. *Processes owned:* 1. All production processes *Production Manager responsibilities:* 1. Develop and execute broad production strategy/plan as approved by CEO 2. Production quality 3. Production planning 4. Production costs 5. Improvement gains ? productivity, cost and quality improvements 6. Process improvement *How results are measured* 1. Process indicators a. Required standard labor hours on open production orders to meet current sales and inventory stocking requirements 2. Financial measures (effectiveness and efficiency indicators) a. Production related quality claims b. Labor hours usage variance ? actual vs standard hours 3. Knowledge/Capacity/Resiliency Building measures a. Processes are documented and up to date so that improvements and knowledge gained is not lost over time, but instead contributes to our knowledge base and can be built upon by those that follow you. b. Processes are measured as described above on a continuous basis using as many real time automatic methods as possible to ensure timely data for decision making in managing processes. c. Continuous improvement of the processes owned are approached using the QIC story methodology to ensure decision making on process changes and improvements is sound and evidence based.
