*About us* Little Learners Daycare is operated by Bright Beginnings of Tweed & District. It is a licensed child care centre operating for over 30 years within St. Carthagh's Catholic school. The centre offers three programs of quality care for children ages 1-12 years and daily provides snacks and one meal to children attending. We require a cook for a 18mth maternity leave contract with the option of extension based on performance. The individual must possess or be able to acquire Food Handlers Certification. They must also have experience working in the dietary field with preference for those experienced in dietary programs at care organizations . The cook must follow Canada Food Guide, Public Health and Ministry of Education requirements. Experience with children in a licensed centre is an asset. The position involves being attentive to children's specific food needs and restrictions, and efficient use of time and space. The position is within a licensed childcare centre and the cook also supports care of children, greeting parents and completing documentation, purchasing food, storing and organizing supplies and maintaining a clean environment. Strong oral and written communication is essential. All employees at centre must be fully trained in all policies and regulations . Position includes lifting, bending, kneeling, walking, sitting and use of stairs. Candidates must be a strong team players, compassionate and flexible with great communication skills and willingness to learn. Candidates should understand the unique needs of rural communities and be able to travel in all weather. The position is full time, minimum 35 hours a week, two weeks off at Christmas and two weeks off in summer, no weekend work required. The applicant must provide full up to date immunizations, up to date Standard First Aid and CPR, Level C, and have the ability to procure a clear vulnerable sector report.
