Kindling Cannabis started as a legal cannabis retail store in the area of Little Portugal Dundas at 1567 Dundas Street West. We aim to have a welcoming and comfortable environment for our team and customers. We offer one of the most convenient free 1-hour delivery systems for our customers within the GTA and growing!
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for retail management, contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.
*Responsibilities*
* Manage and oversee daily store operations
* Assist in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals and lead store team to accomplish targets
* Build a profitable business by leveraging your business acumen and problem-solving skills. Optimize execution of in-store and online delivery service.
* Understand the current market condition and adapt to sales trends quickly
* Plan and utilize staffing hours to optimize the revenue and cost ? labour should aim to hit 20% as a whole
* Strong ability to lead by example and work with staff to deal with any circumstances that may arise in a high volume retail store.
* Optimize execution of in-store and online delivery service
* Promote the first-class customer experience
* Collect feedback from customers and staff to enhance both customer and staff experience
* Ensure daily/weekly/monthly manager checklists duties are completed
* Ensure key business initiatives are offered & fulfilled efficiently for our customers (ex. 1 hour delivery).
_*Daily Store Operational Responsibilities*_
* Conduct accurate cash reconciliation and maintain reporting (weekly cash reconciliation and weekly deposit).
* Investigate any cash or inventory discrepancies and provide report describing findings to management
* Inventory management includes order purchases, back orders, return and compliance audits. Ensure daily/monthly/yearly inventory audits and reconciliations are completed.
* Ensure all expired/damaged/returned product is logged and disposed of according to regulations
* Maintain store security hardware and compliance protocols according to the AGCO laws and regulations. Oversee access control to ensure storage and information security
* Be responsible for facility maintenance and workers safety standards and troubleshooting as necessary including proper up-keep of the phone, utilities, technology, maintenance, repairs, stock, and supplies.
* Ensure that the sales floor is adequately stocked, well merchandised and clean at all times
* Assist in receiving and ensuring that all wholesale deliveries are compliant and accurate compared to invoices, etc.
* Provide daily correspondence via email and slack with management and with the team members as needed
_*Human Resources*_
* Recruit staff and assist with the on-boarding process
* Verify, track payroll and report to management
* Ensure all employee files are complete and up-to-date
* Ongoing coaching, training & development of staff as the business continues to evolve and grow
* Develop and execute employee retention strategies
* Serve as a go-to for staff on duty
*Experience, Qualifications and Expectations*
* Must have at least 2-year experience in Cannabis Retail Management
* Minimum 5 years experience in Retail Store Management
* College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent
* Willingness and ability to follow the evolving market of cannabis, including market trends and regulations
* CannSell Standard Certificate
* Must pass a Criminal Record Check and Comprehensive Background Check
* Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and execution skills
* Ability to use a POS system and maintain inventory management functions (COVA preferred)
