Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Dusty. Work setting: Institutional. Tasks: Install electrical controls and panel boxes. Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes. Professionalism in customer service. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Splice, join and connect wires. Design and construct low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter installations. Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits. Determine appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations. Troubleshoot and isolate faults. Install surface mount and/or overhead cables. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures. Conduct preventive maintenance programs. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Electrician Trade Certification. Confined Space Entry Training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Construction Electrician Red Seal Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Generators. Conventional electrical devices. High voltage equipment. HVAC. Pumps. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Emergency power system. Fire alarm system. Lighting system. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract).
