Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Odours. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Install and overhaul heating systems. Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Coach and instruct apprentices. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Heat pump. Ventilation. Geothermal. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity.
