*The job*
As Plant Manager, you will oversee site operations to ensure the timely and complete supply of quality malt to customers. You will manage resources efficiently, control costs, and drive continuous improvement in production processes.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*People Management:*
* Lead and develop site teams to achieve business goals through Operational Excellence.
* Foster a positive work environment aligned with Boortmalt's culture and values.
* Maintain positive union relationships and manage grievances and negotiations.
* Implement appropriate staffing structures and levels.
* Coach and guide teams to achieve or exceed performance expectations.
* Develop and implement training plans to enhance skills and abilities.
* Encourage personal development and manage change in line with HR policies.
*Engineering:*
* Ensure plant and equipment maintenance aligns with strategic objectives.
* Maintain and operate equipment according to standards, including SOPs and safety regulations.
* Drive continuous improvement through KPIs and share best practices across sites.
*Statutory/Legal Obligations:*
* Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory obligations, including SHE, HACCP, Food Safety, and Employment Legislation.
*Quality:*
* Ensure the delivery of quality malt that meets defined and customer expectations, minimizing complaints.
*Continuous Improvement (BOPEX):*
* Implement and monitor common KPIs and improvement initiatives.
* Ensure business systems and practices present a positive image to visitors and customers.
* Drive sustainability and innovation to meet group commitments.
* Participate in the development and monitoring of Group Business Management Systems and Bopex.
*Financial:*
* Prepare and operate within annual budgets and strategic objectives.
* Manage CAPEX and maintenance projects to ensure budget and timeline adherence.
*Reporting & Administration:*
* Develop and implement reporting systems and procedures to cover all business areas.
* You will also be responsible for implementing and executing Boortmalt's ISO 50001 energy management system as outlined in the Group Integrated Systems Manual.
*Your profile*
* Bachelor?s degree or equivalent knowledge.
* Proficient in Continuous Improvement principles, Energy Management, Process Visualization, Budget and Team Management, and Total Safety.
* Over 7 years of experience in leading operations within manufacturing, engineering, chemical engineering, brewing, or malting technologies.
* Legally entitled to work in Canada
* Valid passport with the ability to travel freely between Canada and the USA.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and experienced with IT manufacturing systems.
* Fluent in spoken and written English.
